Surely God is my help; the Lord is the one who sustains me.

Daily Verse May 20, 2024

You are welcome to join us every Sunday at 5pm

As a church, our aim is to practically serve the communities of Gilfach Goch and Evanstown, demonstrating the love of Jesus in everything that we do.

Our Beliefs

God

God is a triune God, existing eternally in 3 distinct persons, God the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. God the Father is the Creator, He was not created Himself, He has always existed. He is a loving and perfect God.

Jesus Christ

Jesus is also eternal and is the second person in the Trinity, He was born to the virgin mary, He lived a perfect life and died for all our sins on the cross, He died to take Gods punishment for every human beings sin, on Himself.

He now intercedes for us in Heaven. He will come again as King of All, to end the world and begin a new creation.

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity, yes He is a person not a force. He is described as the communicator between the Father and Son and humanity.

Sin and Salvation

We believe all men and women are born into sin and all are sinners, to receive salvation we need to repent of our sins to God and ask God into our lives and have faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and we receive forgiveness for our sins and we are seen as righteous in God’s sight. Salvation is given to us by the grace of God because of the atoning work of Christ, it is received by faith alone and is evidenced by the Fruit of the Spirit and a holy life.

The Bible

The Bible is the given word of God, there are no errors or contradictions in God’s word, as God is perfect and doesn’t make mistakes.

Foodbank

Saturday 10am-2pm

Gilfach Foodbank was set up in June 2010 as part of the National Foodbank Network set up by The Trussel Trust.

It is a project to help and support those suffering financial hardship and who are facing the reality of being unable to feed themselves or their families.

Food is donated by individuals, schools, businesses and churches and is sorted and stored for future use.

Front line professional care workers such as health visitors, charities, church pastoral workers, social services, etc issue vouchers to clients. Clients can then exchange vouchers for 3 days of nutritionally balanced emergency food.

Movie Night

Every other Friday

Join us every other Friday at The Rock Community Church for a movie night where we share stories that touch our hearts and uplift our spirits.

It’s a simple evening, where we gather as friends and neighbours to watch films that shine a light on faith, hope, and love. No need for anything fancy, just come as you are to enjoy a bit of togetherness and some uplifting tales.

Everyone’s welcome, so feel free to bring along a mate or two and join in the warmth of our community.
